At Evergreen, we are passionate about promoting children's health, wellbeing and physical development. Our Fitness Program is a valued part of our curriculum and reflects our commitment to helping children develop healthy habits that support lifelong wellbeing.
Delivered by our dedicated fitness coach, the program provides children with regular opportunities to participate in engaging and energetic sessions designed specifically for young learners. Through a combination of sports, movement experiences, obstacle courses, team games and fitness challenges, children develop strength, coordination, balance, confidence and resilience in a fun and supportive environment.
Aligned with the NSW Government's Munch & Move initiative, the program focuses on developing fundamental movement skills that form the foundation for future participation in sport and physical activity. Children are encouraged to challenge themselves, work collaboratively with their peers and develop a positive attitude towards being active.
Beyond physical development, the program supports children's social and emotional wellbeing by fostering teamwork, perseverance, self confidence and a sense of achievement. Healthy lifestyle messages, including the importance of nutritious food choices and regular exercise, are naturally embedded throughout the program.
Our fitness coach works alongside educators to ensure active lifestyles are promoted every day, with movement and physical activity woven throughout the curriculum. This collaborative approach ensures children benefit from consistent opportunities to build healthy bodies, active minds and positive wellbeing habits.
